3. Consider waxes with solvents for more permanent waterproofing

Why is this an effective blend? The solvent helps to prevent the wax from becoming a liquid, thus allow it to remain in the grains and pores of the boot.

4. Remove factory-waterproofing treatment before applying wax to chrome/oil-tanned leather

Removing the factory waterproofing treatment will allow the boot to retain the wax better. To remove the manufacturer's waterproofing, use a soft brush with a mild dishwashing liquid soap or a residue-free type of detergent. Afterwards, let the boots dry totally and then apply your own waterproofing (i.e. beeswax)

5. Use beeswax products for uses other than waterproofing

While beeswax products are effective in waterproofing motorcycle boots, you can also use them for general protection of leather. That includes rough, sanded, recycled, suede, and split leather. However, keep in mind that your boots will look (and smell) different.

Waterproof boots are vital whenever we hit the road with our motorcycles. Use these basic waterproofing guidelines to keep the water out, and the comfort in.

If you are going on a long business trip or traveling with ties in the luggage, prepare them properly. Loosely roll the ties and place them inside a pair of socks or use a tie case.
Do not wear similar tie everyday. It needs time to return to its normal shape.

CLEANING AND MAINTAINING

Cut any loose thread on your tie with scissors. Do not pull them out. Pulling the thread will cause major damage to your tie.
Do not roll up your tie unless it's a knit tie. It will damage the lining inside.
Do not wash your tie. Most ties shrink unevenly when washed because the materials used inside the tie shrinks in different rates.
Do not dry-clean your tie. The inside material of the tie will get damaged. If the material is silk, it will lose its luster.
Do not press your tie. It can cause the surface flattened and the material shiny. However, if it's really necessary to press the tie, cover it with a cotton cloth then press on a low setting.
You can steam your tie to remove serious wrinkles. Hang it in the bathroom while showering or hold it over a boiling pot of water but do not let it touch the water.
Do not let any cologne get on your tie. It can damage its colour.
If it get stained do not rub it. It will cause abrasions and will loss its color. Instead blot the affected area and let it dry. Then, gently scrape the surface with a smooth cloth end or rub the small end of the tie on the stain.
If it gets more serious stains, use a spot remover or other mild cleaning agents. However, test it first on an old cloth or in an inconspicuous area (like, the back of your tie) to make sure the remover won't damage the tie.
Put a cover on your tie when you eat or prepare to replace it when it gets soiled.

Don't you just love this time of year? I do! That feeling inside of knowing something special and beautiful is just around the corner. It's presence in the air is so strong that you almost feel as if you could reach your arms out to the sky and touch it with your fingertips. What is it that I am referring to you might ask? It's Spring-time!

Just recently, in my quiet time, I have been watching an old UK sitcom from the Seventies, called 'Butterflies. I have been thoroughly enjoying this exploration into the life of a bored house wife who, although, she loves her husband and two grown children very much, at the same time has an inner yearning for the excitement and spontaneity that she feels her life is lacking. And so the search begins within her soul to find the answers she is looking for.

I completely understand that wanting feeling and in a way winter being followed by its friend Spring describes the very essence of that inner yearning for more. For three months we feel the coolness that winter offers and as if the chill in the air is not already unpleasant enough, just as we begin to feel relieved and happy at the prospect that the end of winter is nearing, the sharp winds come from nowhere and cut you to the bone. All the while you are longing for something more than goose bumps and shivers and you hope that nature is bringing it your way sooner rather than later.

Then ever so suddenly you get out of bed one morning and you find that you do not have to rush to put your comforting dressing gown and ugg boots on. You look outside and you can see the sun shining; now I know the sun shines in winter too but for me the sun actually begins to take on a different aura at this time of year. It's as if the sun's rays are filled with a sense of calm and the gentle ever so slightly warm breeze that surrounds you is like a soft feather pillow caressing you. Can you feel it? Why not head outside and breathe it in while you can, because it only comes but once a year but would you not agree that it is more than worth the wait?!
